Top 5 gym mistake you should not make
Hello everyone welcome to my blog. I have been going to gym for last 3 years and I have made many mistakes during my initial years. I have observed that many beginners make a lot of mistakes in the gym. In this blog i will discuss about five major and common mistakes people make in the gym. As a friend I would suggest you not to make the following mistakes.
NOT DOING THE WARM UP
During my childhood my father always advised me to warm up before playing football. This applies to almost all sports and same goes for gymming. It is very important to properly warm up your body before lifting those heavy weights in the gym. Skipping the warm up can increase the risk of injuries and it also increases the stretch marks. If proper warm up is not done the whole work out may get spoilt. After your workout ends let your body cool down.
FOLLOWING THE SAME ROUTINE FOR A LONG TIME
When you follow the same routine for a long time - same machine, same exercises, same set, same reps then your body adapts to that routine and becomes used to it. Thus you should change the workout routine periodically or after every month. This does not mean that you have to change the whole routine but you can make small changes such as changes in reps and sets or machines you use and reshuffle the exercises, so that our body doesn't get adapted to that workout routine and is shocked everytime you workout. Thus, it will be forced to grow.
NOT LEARNING THE PROPER FORM
Right from the beginning make it a habit to perform every exercise with right form, right technique and mind-muscle connection. Exercises done with poor form and very little or no mind-muscle connection will give you no results.
Many people go to the gym and start performing exercises without knowing the correct form or proper technique of those exercise. This can lead to various injuries and problems. You should first learn the proper technique and right form of exercises and only then you should perform them.
NOT DRINKING WATER DURING WORKOUT
Drinking water during workouts is a highly important thing. When you work-out your body loses water through sweat, and if you don't drink water you might get dehydrated, which can badly affect your performance during workout. Thus, you should carry a water bottle during working out in a gym. Water also ensures that nutrients reach working muscles properly during the workout. If you feel heaviness in the abdominal area due to drinking water and you are unable to do abs workout properly, then you should drink water slowly sip by sip between sets.
Not getting enough rest
When we work-out our body receives a shock and thus the body grows muscles to overcome such shock in future. But our body requires some recovery period and rest to grow muscles, and the muscles grow not when we are working out in the gym but when we are resting after the workouts. Thus, rest is highly important to grow muscles. Thus a proper rest and sleep of at least 6 - 7 hours is necessary for muscle growth.
A muscle group should be given recovery period of 48 to 72 hours for its ideal growth and recovery. So that your muscles are fully recovered and you go stronger next time in the gym.
